Werecobras are a rare form of lycanthrope that inhabits jungle and swamp regions. Unlike most other lycanthropes, werecobras have formed their own society, since theirs is a curse that can't be passed on by physical contact – werecobras are either born or divinely cursed. They form small tribes, often living in crude villages or old ruins deep in the jungle, where they set up temples to Set or other dark gods.

In their hybrid form, werecobras stand about a foot taller than their human form, with scaly skin and a serpent's head with a full hood.

Combat

In serpent form, a werecobra relies on is poisonous bite. A werecobra in hybrid form usually wields a weapon and uses its bite as a secondary natural attack.

Alternate Form (Su): A werecobra can assume a bipedal hybrid form or the form of a giant cobra.

Poison (Ex): Injury, moderate neurotoxin, DC 15; onset 1d4 rounds, check 1d3 minutes; initial and secondary effect 1d8 Con damage.

Snake Empathy (Ex): Communicate with snakes and serpent creatures, and +4 racial bonus on Charisma-based checks against snakes and serpent creatures.

Skills: *A werecobra in hybrid or snake form gains a +4 racial bonus to Stealth checks, and a +2 racial bonus to Survival checks when tracking by scent.

The werecobra presented here is based on a 1st-level human warrior and natural lycanthrope, using the following base ability scores: Str 13, Dex 11, Con 12, Int 10, Wis 9, Cha 8. Werecobras receive the following ability score adjustments: Dex +6, Con +1.
